Who we are

UFO Battler (ufobattler.com) is a free website for viewing, ranking and discussing UFO/UAP videos, government UAP releases and crop circles. To contact us about privacy, message @ufobattler on Instagram.

What we collect

• Account data (only if you register): username, email address and a securely hashed password. Password-reset tokens are stored temporarily.
• Content you create: votes, likes, comments, favorites, follows, direct messages, notifications, and videos you upload with the details you provide (location, date, tags, description).
• Technical data: your IP address is stored with votes, likes, comments and uploads, and used for rate limiting to prevent abuse and vote manipulation. Our web server keeps standard access logs (IP address, requested page, referrer, browser user agent).
• Browser storage: we keep your login token, theme preference and whether you have seen intro screens in your browser's local storage. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

How we use it

To run the site (logins, rankings, comments, messages), to prevent spam, abuse and vote manipulation, to fix problems, and to understand which pages and referral sources bring visitors (aggregate log analysis). We do not sell personal data and we do not show third-party ads.

Third-party services

• Map tiles are loaded from OpenStreetMap and the map library from unpkg.com; these services receive your IP address when your browser loads them.
• Some government video thumbnails are served from third-party content delivery networks.
• Social media: we publish short clips of top-ranked videos to our own UFO Battler accounts on Instagram, TikTok and similar platforms using their official APIs. These integrations only access our own accounts; we receive no data about you from them. If you follow or interact with us there, that platform's privacy policy applies.

Public content

Usernames, comments, votes (in aggregate), favorites shown on profiles, and approved uploads are public. Videos on the site may be shared on our social media accounts.

Retention

Account data and content are kept while your account exists. Server logs are rotated and kept for a limited time. Database backups are kept for disaster recovery.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to access, correct or delete your account and content: message @ufobattler on Instagram. Depending on where you live (for example the EU/UK under GDPR or California under CCPA) you may have additional rights, which we will honor.

Children

UFO Battler is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.

We may update this policy; the date above shows the latest version.
